84 Rejuvenation of the Kosi Parikrama Marg is the most important. This circumambulation route of about 275 km is spread over 5 districts Basti, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki and Gonda.
This circumambulation route starts from the cantonment near NH-27 and passes through Gosaiganj, Adhiyuna intersection, Amarganj, Rudauli, Bhoriganj, Rajapur, and Nawabganj and then reaches the cantonment.
NHAI is going to develop and beautify the entire Parikrama Marg at a total value of Rs 3,000 crore. In 2017 itself, the Parikrama Marg was theoretically declared a National Highway (NH).
This paved the way for its development for NHAI. The company named Jindal Consortium has prepared its DPR (detailed project report). Its map is being finalized.
According to NHAI, out of 275 km long route, 253 km of road remains, out of which only 71 km is double lane, the remaining 182 km is single lane road.
Now the entire 275 km route will be developed as a double lane road. A bridge will also be constructed at two places on the Saryu river coming in the Parikrama Marg. The size of each bridge will be one kilometer.
According to NHAI, as soon as the DPR gets the green sign, a tender will be issued for its building and an effort will be made to complete it as soon as possible. At the same time, DPR is being prepared for a separate 898 crore project for the forest transit route.
