Sankranti comes from one zodiac sign to the presence of the sun and Leo Sankranti is one of the twelve Sankranti that occur every year. During the Simha Sankranti, Sun travels from Cancer Rashi to Simha Rashi. In Southern India, it's referred to as Simha Sankranam and is well known with more enthusiasm in South India on this day than in Northern India.
The day begins within the Malayalam calendar, in line with the Tamil month and Avni month and within the Bhadra month according to the Bengali calendar.
