Vaikuntha Ekadashi falls in December-January of Shukla Paksha, it is also generally known as Moksha Ekadashi. In Kerala, it is also known as Swarg Vathil Ekadashi.

Fasting of Vaikuntha Ekadashi just isn't really easy. Anyone who keeps fast on today has to get up early in the morning and start a fast after taking a shower. How to worship Lord Vishnu on Vaikuntha Ekadashi?

 In Hinduism, the Ekadashi date is considered to be of Lord Vishnu. This fast is kept by the wish of salvation. Bathing in the holy river is considered to be of particular significance today. If there is no such thing as a river around the home, then it is best to take a shower by mixing Ganga water in the water at residence. Take the idol of Lord Vishnu for worship and offer yellow flowers and clothes on it. After this, worship Vishnu Ji using incense, lamp, and sandalwood.

After this, recite the Shlokas or Srisukta of Bhagavad Gita. In the worship of Vishnu Ji must use basil leaves. Offer khichdi to Lord Vishnu mixed with seven grains. After offering enjoyment, distribute prasad in everybody and take it your self

Significance of Vaikund

According to spiritual belief, Vaikund is the abode of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Vaikund means the place there is no shortage of something. Where the ego ceases and you completely surrender your self to Vishnu. When you fast for Vaikund Ekadashi, you attain salvation.

Vaikuntha Ekadashi Puja Vidhi

  • On the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is worshiped by regulation. Before worshiping Lord Vishnu, a shower is done in a river in a holy place.
  • If there is no such thing as a river around your home, then you can even take a shower by adding Ganga water in your bathwater. By doing this you will get as a lot advantage as bathing the Ganges.
  • Now set up the idol or image of Lord Vishnu. Now offer a garland of yellow flowers to Lord Vishnu.
  • After this, worship Lord Vishnu with incense, lamp, and yellow sandalwood. Now recite Shlokas or Srisukta of Bhagavad Gita.
  • After the worship of Lord Vishnu is done, supply Tulsi leaves and offer it to Lord Vishnu.
  • To make an offering to Lord Vishnu, make khichdi by mixing seven grains and mix cow's ghee in it and place mango leaves on it.
  • Now offer Lord Vishnu. After offering bhoga, distribute prasad among all people and also accept prasad itself.
  • By doing this, humans get rid of the blame and get to Vaikuntha Dham.

Vaikuntha Ekadashi Vrat Katha

There's a very fascinating story behind observing Vaikuntha Ekadashi. As soon as, the gods had been enormously disturbed by the invasion of a demon named Muran, as a result of which the deity went to Lord Shiva to ask for help. However, Lord Shiva asked him to go to Vishnu, as a result of Lord Vishnu had the weapon that could defeat Muran.

After which he was named Badrikashram. In the future when Lord Vishnu was resting, Muran tried to kill him, in the meantime, female energy came out of his body and turned Muran into ashes. After which Lord Vishnu named him Ekadashi and gave him a boon that whoever fasts on this day will get a place directly in Vaikund.
